Online ordering can provide restaurant operators with key customer information that can be useful for developing promotion strategies, including targeted promotions designed to build off-peak demand, specials aimed at certain customer segments, and couponing strategies. About one-third of respondents had offered online promotions and another third said they were working on it. Of the respondents who had offered online ordering promotions, one-half (52.4%) stated that these promotions worked better than their regular promotions.
